Explosion-protected switchgear КАВ is designed for electric power distribution of 0,4/0,69/1,0/1,2/3,3/6,0/10 kV voltage and protection of outgoing electrical circuits. КАВ is used in underground openings of coal mines and open pit mines as well as at their surface buildings hazardous of fire damp and/or suspended coal dust. The equipment has got the Certificate of Federal Service on Environmental, Technology and Nuclear Surveillance and the Certificate of Conformity GOST R (issued by ISO «Sertium»).
Principal of operation and main features
A history of a term “КАВ” origin at our plant is rather interesting. In the beginning this term was used for switching units of 0,38/0,66/ 1,14 kV voltage. Miners called them as “magnetic stations” or simply as “magnetics”. They are completed of standard sections which are mounted on a frame and may be transported by railway as well as by monorail.
The basic principle of the magnetic stations – switching of several consumers by switchgears mounted in a single housing — is very handy and allows realization of great number of additional functions. Till recent time similar units were manufactured only for small voltage – up to 1200 V, a vacuum contactor being used as switchgear.
Principal of operation and main features of КАВ (magnetic stations)
As time went by the term «КАВ» became wider. Thus in 2007, coal mine «Zarechnaya» ordered magnetic station for 6 KV with three outgoing connections. Switching of these connections should be carried out according to prescribed algorithm since they supplied voltage to mine’s main conveyer motors. This task was successfully fulfilled. That was the way the first КАВ-6 came into the world.
Vacuum circuit breakers placed in specially designed sections were used in КАV-6 as switchgears. Microcontroller device for the automatic start executing required algorithm was placed inside an additional automation section. The control of the magnetic station was carried out by means of colour monitor. Later on our specialists made a mobile 6 KV distribution device for “Sibirginskaya” coal mine. This unit is incorporates 2 inputs, intersection switch and 4 outgoing cells in a single case. At present time 4 similar switchgear units (also named КАВ-6В) are operating at different Kuzbass coal mines.
Now the number of modification of class «КАВ» equipment is very big. The class encompasses a big distribution center with voltage up to 6 or even 10 kv, compact magnetic stations for 0,38/0,66/1,14 kV and even quite small starting boxes. All this variety was made for only one task – to facilitate in solving specific industrial problems by simplest and quick solution.
Currently we manufacture one and two sections КАВ switchgear units; with sectioning and without sectioning; with standard and reversible circuit breakers; with automatic functions and remote control.
The best recognition of the equipment advantage is the fact of using it for a student education. Thus, Kemerovo mining college ordered a unique sample of КАВ switchgear unit for a training process. The unit includes maximum quantity of functional facilities: input reversible disconnector; group vacuum circuit breaker; AПШ section (used for drill power supply); direct independent connections which are switched by vacuum contactors and are supplied with microcontroller protection; reversible connection with two vacuum contactor switches; smart switchboard; as well as automatic start microcontroller unit.
A big quantity of КАВ modifications allows satisfying any customer requirements, for instance:
- opportunity of switching on of connection groups according to the predetermined algorithm;
- opportunity of disconnection of all outgoing КАВ lines by means of common switching unit (group switch);
- monitoring and control of КАВ connections from automation section equipped by colour monitor, while the availability of a smart switchboard allows making testing and adjustment of КАВ connection parameters from common key-board;
- connection of КАВ into a data transmission system that allows data transmission and equipment operation along digital communication channels (as well as along power cable lines);
- creation of КАВ “non-standard” compact distribution centre for specific problems (control of mine wall equipment);
- opportunity to arrange a mobile distribution center on the basis of КАВ.
